Conditions that Trigger the Overspeed Error:
The overspeed error is logged when the engine speed surpasses the overspeed trip point. Refer to the relevant documentation for specific speed thresholds. Note: This is an event code and does not indicate a fault in the electronic system.
System Response:
- Event Code Logging: When overspeed occurs, the system logs an event code.
- The code can be viewed using the display module or an electronic service tool.
Performance Impact:
- E362-1:
- The warning light illuminates, and the diagnostic light flashes the event code.
- Fuel injection is cut off until the engine speed drops 200 RPM below the overspeed trip point.
- E362-3:
- Both the warning and shutdown lights turn on, and the diagnostic light flashes the event code.
Important Notes:
- This error signals excessive engine speed but does not indicate a failure in the Electronic Control Module (ECM) or the speed/time sensor.
- No troubleshooting is required for this error.
Resolution:
- Adjust the overspeed trip point using an electronic service tool if necessary.
Outcome:
- The engine will stop once the issue is resolved, ensuring safe operation.
