
Engine Throttle Setup
Applicable Model: Perkins 1104D

Purpose
The Throttle Configuration function within EST allows for setting up or modifying throttle types and arbitration methods. It supports configuration of up to three throttle inputs.
Accessing Throttle Configuration
To access this function:
- Open the Service menu.
- Select Throttle Configuration.
- The Throttle Configuration screen will be displayed.

Screen Layout Overview
The Throttle Configuration interface consists of two main sections:
1. Tree Area
- Current Throttle Configuration Summary
Refer to Figure 1.3
Displays an overview of existing throttle settings and arbitration method. Most fields are read-only except for the Number of Throttles field.- Throttle #1 Setup

Throttle #1 can be configured using the following setup types:- No Throttle – Review or modify throttle settings.
- Analogue and PWM – Modify settings specific to analogue or PWM signals.
- Multi-position Switch – Select from one to four switch inputs for throttle control.

Number of Switch Inputs:- 1 input = 2 positions
- 2 inputs = 4 positions
- 3 inputs = 8 positions
- 4 inputs = 16 positions

- Throttle #2
Only visible if a second throttle is configured. - Arbitration Method Setup
Only displayed if more than one throttle is configured.
This screen lets you define how multiple throttle inputs are prioritized.Available Arbitration Methods:- Manual – User-defined control.
- Summing – ECM uses the sum of throttle values.
- Largest Wins – ECM uses the highest throttle value.

2. Wizard Area
Located to the right (or below on smaller screens), the Wizard Area displays corresponding configuration details based on the Tree Area selection.
Available Buttons:
- <Back – Return to the previous screen.
- Next> – Proceed to the next screen.
- Submit – Save changes and send updated configuration to the ECM. (Disabled if screen is read-only)
