How to Reset Mercedes C220D AdBlue System with Autel Maxisys Ultra to Fix Low Fill Level Issue

When owning a modern diesel vehicle like the Mercedes C220D, keeping an eye on the AdBlue system is crucial for ensuring that your car runs smoothly while also adhering to emissions standards. Recently, a common issue encountered by many owners is the “cannot measure fluid level” warning on the dashboard, even after filling up the AdBlue tank. If you’re facing this problem, don’t fret, as the Autel Maxisys Ultra diagnostic tool can help you reset the AdBlue system and clear any fault messages.

To start with, connect your Autel Maxisys Ultra to the Mercedes C220D. Once connected, follow these steps:

1. Choose ‘Diagnostics’ on your Autel Maxisys Ultra and confirm the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and the vehicle model, ensuring they match your car’s information.

2. Perform a full fault scan to identify any present issues with the vehicle. In this case, you may encounter fault codes such as P130F09 indicating a component fault in the AdBlue system, and P13E7FD signaling that the AdBlue fill level is low.

3. Navigate to ‘Hot functions,’ then select ‘Aftertreatment.’ From there, choose the option to ‘Reset warning message “Fault in AdBlue system” in multifunction display’ and continue.

4. Allow the control unit to initialize. Remember not to turn off the ignition during this process. You will need to perform SCN coding of the “ECM” (Engine Control Module) as prompted.

5. Press the ‘Continue’ button to proceed to the next step, which involves entering the ‘Programming/Customization’ menu. Perform the function coding as directed by the diagnostic tool.

6. Once the coding is complete, turn the ignition off and then back on to complete the reset process.

The Autel Maxisys Ultra should confirm that the procedure was completed successfully. By pressing the ‘Continue’ button for the final step, you should observe that the AdBlue system is now reset to its full range (6300 miles), and the previous warning message should no longer be displayed on the dashboard.

It’s important to note that while the Autel Maxisys Ultra makes the reset process straightforward, you should always consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or a professional technician if you’re unsure about performing any diagnostic operations on your car. This reset procedure can save you a trip to the dealership and ensure that your Mercedes C220D continues to perform at its best.
