How do I install the JLR Pathfinder software?

1. Select “Save”, select “Desktop”, and select “Save”.

2. The software file will download.

3. Select “Run”.

4. A security warning window will appear, select Run.

5. The Jaguar Land Rover Connect setup wizard will launch.

6. A “Welcome to the Jaguar Land Rover Connect Setup Wizard” pop-up will appear. Select “Next”.

7. A “Choose more tasks” pop-up will appear. Do not select “Create a desktop icon”. Select Next. NOTE: The installation progress will be displayed on screen.

8.After installation the Complete Jaguar Land Rover Connect Setup Wizard will be displayed. Select Finish.

9.The machine will reboot.

10.Internet Explorer will open to your home page or a new JLR App Launcher screen. NOTE: The PATHFINDER icon will not function until the software download is complete.

11.The PATHFINDER software will automatically download in the background.

NOTE: To check the software download progress, select the “hidden icons” arrow at the bottom right of your screen (Windows taskbar). Right-click the Connection icon and select Check for Updates to view the progress bar in the Jaguar Land Rover application.

NOTE: Due to the large size of the software files, the software download and installation process will take some time. Please be patient.

NOTE: Do not use PATHFINDER or SDD until the software download and installation is complete.

12.The Jaguar Land Rover Connect Updater popup will appear. Select “Install Now”. NOTE: When the “Please close JLRAppLauncher to continue installation” popup appears, place the cursor over the “JLR AppLauncher” icon in the “Windows Taskbar” at the bottom of the screen. Right-click on the icon and select “Close Window”. In the JLRAppLauncher message popup, select “Continue”.

13.The JLRAppLauncher message popup will close. PATHFINDER will be installed. Please wait.

14.Select the “Hidden icons” arrow at the bottom right of the screen (Windows Taskbar). Select the “Connect” icon to view the progress bar for the “Jaguar Land Rover Application”.

15.When the progress bar shows 100%, select Close.

16.PATHFINDER is now installed.

Installing the Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) Unit

NOTE: A DoIP VCI unit is required for PATHFINDER to work with communications on the 2017 Range Rover L405, Range Rover Sport L494 and New Discovery L462.

The DoIP VCI should be the only VCI connected to your JLR approved diagnostic device when using PATHFINDER. Upcoming PATHFINDER announcements will be posted shortly in the Activity Stream section of TOPIx. All dealers must have a DoIP VCI in their workshop. The DoIP VCI is the only JLR approved VCI unit that can communicate with the 2017 model year vehicles listed above.

Please note that the following steps only apply if you are using the VCI for the first time. Once the initial installation and configuration is complete, the DoIP VCI is plug and play with the PATHFINDER software.

Setting Preferences in PATHFINDER

1. Plug the DoIP VCI USB cable into the DoIP VCI device and into your JLR approved diagnostic device.

NOTE: A USB Input Device popup will appear. Select “X” to close the popup.

2. Select the “Windows” key.

3. Select “All Programs”.

4. Select “Bosch”.

5. Select “VCI Software (JLR)”.

6.Select “VCI Manager (JLR)”.

7.Select the VCI icon displayed on screen.

8.Select “Connect to VCI”.

9.Select “VCI Update”.

10.Select “Start Update”.

11.The VCI Manager Information pop-up will appear. Select “OK” to continue.

NOTE: Do not disconnect the DoIP VCI from your JLR approved diagnostic device during the update process.

NOTE: The DoIP VCI update process takes approximately 12 minutes.

12.The DoIP VCI will automatically restart.

13.Wait until the DoIP VCI beeps. Select “OK” to continue.

14. Select ‘X’ to close ‘VCI Manager’.

15. The DoIP VCI is now ready to use. SETTING UP IN PATHFINDER

SETTING UP IN PATHFINDER

1. Select the PATHFINDER icon in the ‘JLR Application Launcher’.

2. Select ‘Other User’ and enter your ‘User ID’ and password.

3. Select ‘Independent Operator’ or ‘Authorised Repair Facility’.

4. Select ‘OK’ to log in.

5. Read the “Warning” pop-up and select “OK”.

6. Select the three-bar icon in the top right of the screen. Select the Settings icon.

7. Select the “Communication Interface” tab. Select “D-PDU”.

8. A “Windows Security Alert – Windows Firewall” popup will appear.

Note: If a Windows Security Alert popup appears, do not select Cancel.

9. In the “Windows Security Alert – Windows Firewall” popup, check the boxes for “Private networks” and “Public networks” and select “Allow access”.

10. The configuration in PATHFINDER is now complete.
