ODIS Software Problem on the Processing of diagnosis

Problem:

I try to check codes on one of my cars and it’s telling me that the odis software needs to be updated

I tryed on 5 different cars it’s software issue for sure just need to be updated but I didn’t wanna do anything cuz yell told me before not too

I have 2012 VW Passat Tdi I tryed , 2016 VW Passat , 2013 VW Jetta

Engineer said this error occurs because you are using the wrong software,there are many car brand specific software on the desktop that cannot be used for diagnosis, you need to use the general software.
