Kia stinger 2019 v6 engine ECU over heat and not detectable. the question can Autel IM608 reprogram new ECM (SIM2K260) if not how can i do?
Solution:
No, it cannot do programming.
You will need a laptop, j-box and subscribe OEM software.
Log in kiatechinfo.snapon.com for OEM software with labtop
You can code it with the im608.
When you program it should either take the vin from the other computers in the car and then write it to the new PCM or let you write it in manually.
If you buy a brand new ecm from dealer it can write the vin in it and program the keys to it. As far as using the j2534 and the OEM software they don’t allow rewriting vin numbers just new writes and software updating.
If you don’t want to subscribe OEM software, use ktag or Flex to read eeprom or flash depends on ECU (on bench) and Clone ecu 1hr job.
Ktag clone read and write this ECU without problem.
