Inspection and Adjustment

The chain tension should be checked at the first service after 100 hours and then every 500 hours.

  1. Park and Secure the Machine:
    • Park the machine on firm, level ground.
    • Engage the parking brake and put the transmission in neutral.
    • Lower the loader arms to the ground.
  2. Prepare the Excavator:
    • Center the carriage.
    • Place the excavator on the ground.
    • Remove the ignition key.
  3. Check Chain Tension:
    • Measure the center deflection (A). It should be between 5 to 10 mm (0.19 to 0.39 inches).
    • Ensure the tension is uniform across all chains.
  4. Adjust Chain Tension if Necessary:
    • Loosen lock nut (C).
    • Adjust nut (B) as needed.
    • Tighten lock nut (C).
  5. Repeat for Other Chains:
    • Perform steps 3 and 4 for the other pair of chains.

Note: If there are no adjustment threads left, new chains must be installed.

  6. Final Check:
    • Move the carriage side to side several times.
    • Recheck the deflection to ensure proper tension.

Removal and Installation of Chains

If chain replacement is required, follow these steps:

Removal
