Tool Stages
There are three diagnostic tool stages and each stage corresponds to a higher grade of tool. Both the IM608 and the Maxisys Elite are stage 3 tools. Meaning they can perform diagnostic checkups, have special coding functions, and have a J-box. The IM608 is a bit newer being released in 2019 while the maxiSys was released in 2017

In comparison of software, the IM608 is a Locksmith’s dream tool as it has level 5 key coding as well as other features that allow it to conduct all key-lose scenarios, add keys, and extract pin codes/mechanical key cut codes. The MaxiSys Elite, on the other hand, is more tailored for overall diagnosing and has unique programming capability for BMW and Benz. Both tools have their limitations and their advantage points.
