How to Unlock Radio on 2007 GMC Yukon with J2534 and SPS

Here is the toturial on reprogramming the radio on a 2007 GMC Yukon because it was not working. Didn’t have communication with radio and we replace the unit.

These cars they come with the VIN number on the radio so we gonna reprogram them. You can unlock some radios by removing a little chip inside.
But this radio has two chips so we just gonna use the j2534 for autel maxflash pro and the SPS application from the dealership.

If you don’t have the Autel J2534 tool (Maxisys, IM608 etc) you can find other cheaper ones at 100 bucks, like GM MDI, GM MDI2 clone, vxdiag vcx nano for GM. The software is called SPS and you can go to the website ACdelcotds.com and get a subscription for 40 dollars and the software is free. You can program any module in the car for 2 years.

We prefer the programming way because when you remove the two chips inside, it will lose the memory that is used to store the stations and the audio configuration.

Let’s start.

Note* The same procedure can be applied to Chevrolet/GMC radio Tahoe, Yukon, Silverado, Sierra from year 2007 to 2012.

Connect j2534 with computer
In SPS programming we select vehicle information
You have to pay 40 bucks to get access to these files.
