We are told not to connect Autel IM608 XP400or XP400 Pro to OBD vehicles. Otherwise the xp400 will be damaged. Still, some users accidentally connect the xp400 to the OBD car and the xp400 stops reading keys. Is there a chance to fix it?
Solution:
The warranty is not covered under these circumstances. As it is not designed to be connected via the OBD port, this will void the warranty.
Time to buy a new one. The option is to buy a different board from the XP400 or buy a brand new one. Get a new XP400 Pro.
However, some experts have come up with a DIY solution. ONLY TO SHARE. You are at your own risk. They repaired their burnt devices after making an OBD connection. Take it out and take the soldier on board. Change this component (pcf7991) and it will work again. The chip is in the Opel Immo Box.
It’s better anyway and protects from doing it again. You can’t go wrong like this.
