Injector Solenoid Test

Purpose
The Injector Solenoid Test verifies the operation of the injector solenoid on one or all cylinders. This test helps identify wiring or solenoid issues. Once the test is completed, the results can be analyzed to confirm whether all cylinders are functioning correctly.

Accessing the Test

  1. From the Diagnostics menu, select Diagnostic Tests.
  2. Choose Injector Solenoid Test from the submenu. The test screen will be displayed.

Screen Layout

  • Tree Area: Lists available ECMs and the selected diagnostic test.
  • Display Area: Contains three columns:
    • Cylinder/Description: Displays available cylinder numbers.
    • Mode: Shows whether the cylinder is Powered or Cutout.
    • Test Result: Displays the outcome (Open, Short, or OK) after the test.
  • Buttons:
    • Change: Switch the state of a selected cylinder between cutout and powered for troubleshooting.
    • Power All: Return all cylinders to the powered (active) state.
    • Cutout All: Set all cylinders to the cutout state.
    • Start: Begin the test. This button is disabled once the test starts.
    • Stop: End the test. This button is disabled once stopped until restarted.

Fuel Rail Pump Solenoid Test

Purpose
The Fuel Rail Pump Solenoid Test verifies the functionality of the fuel rail pump solenoid. It detects whether an open circuit or short circuit is present. This test is designed to run with the engine speed at 0 RPM.

Operation

  • Initiating the test checks the solenoid circuit condition.
  • Results will confirm if the circuit is functioning (OK) or faulty (Open/Short).
