Error Identification

• The RTI unit fails to start when the start button is pressed.

Causes

1. The anti-theft system may be activated.
2. The RTI unit has detected an incorrect chassis number via the CAN bus.
3. The RTI unit has been transferred to another vehicle without registering the new chassis serial number in SDP3.
4. After the vehicle battery has been disconnected, the RTI unit was started before the ignition key was turned to drive position, preventing it from receiving CAN data.

Notes

• If theft protection is active, a red LED will illuminate on the front of the RTI unit.

Solutions

1. Turn the ignition key to the drive position. Once powered, the CAN bus should transmit the vehicle identification data.
2. If the RTI unit has been installed in a different vehicle, it must be unlocked using SDP3.
